Help host one of Michigan’s most gratifying and thrilling events by volunteering at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.

As Detroit’s annual motorsports festival, the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix will help start the summer with three days of fun, music, racing and more, May 29-31 at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park street circuit. With an expected crowd of more than 100,000 over the course of the weekend, event organizers are targeting a delegation of approximately 1,100 Detroit Grand Prix Association (DGPA) volunteers to ensure another world-class experience for all of the guests on Belle Isle during race weekend.

Quicken Loans returns as the sponsor of the volunteer program for the fourth consecutive year, while the DGPA, the event’s official volunteer organization, has supported the Grand Prix since 1983. The model for this organization has been so successful it has been adapted and implemented in other event volunteer efforts across the country. To become a member of the DGPA and volunteer for the 2015 Grand Prix, visit www.DetroitGP.com and select the “Volunteer” link.

“Without question, our volunteers at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix are the best in the business. They are true ambassadors of our event and they are first ones to welcome people when they arrive at the Grand Prix and the last ones fans see on their way off the island,” said Bud Denker, Chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. “The DGPA members are some of the most dedicated, passionate and hard-working people I’ve ever encountered in motorsports and our goal is to have about 1,100 volunteers in place for race weekend to make sure this is the best Grand Prix yet.”

Some of the areas where volunteers are needed for the 2015 Grand Prix include: circuit marshals, customer relations, food services, chalet services, information booths, track services, ticket scanners, transportation/delivery services, ushers and more.
Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix volunteers are able to experience the event in a unique and exciting way.

DGPA members will receive great benefits such as credentials for each day of the Grand Prix, an official DGPA volunteer uniform, a DGPA membership patch, a lapel pin, free off-island parking during race weekend, access to pre- and post-event parties and lunch provided each day of the event.

Volunteers are required to commit a minimum of 25 hours during race weekend (or in advance of the event) that will be divided into shifts depending on the volunteer area. To join the DGPA and volunteer for the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, individuals will pay a $15 annual membership fee.
