John Force Racing, Inc. and Chevrolet announced today they will join forces to back the 18-time NHRA Funny Car championship team starting with the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

The Ford stand at 2015 North American International Auto Show features the newly revealed Ford GT, Shelby GT350R Mustang and F-150 Raptor, showcasing the company’s performance vehicles.

(Note: This release is part of a series in advance of the 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Jan. 30, broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC
Sports Network, Motor Racing Network Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Bill Elliott, Fred Lorenzen, Wendell Scott, Joe Weatherly and Rex White are the five 2015 inductees.)

Fred Lorenzen’s NASCAR career was brief, just 158 premier series starts over slightly more than a decade.

During a 13-year premier series career, Wendell Scott likely never considered he was making NASCAR history. The Virginian’s sole concern was getting to the next race on a miniscule budget.

Scott wasn’t the only driver to struggle financially. The odds of making a good living racing stock cars were long in the 1960s and early 1970s when purses were small, large sponsors unheard of and manufacturer support came and went with the turning of the calendar’s pages.

In the world of hybrids, one of Toyota’s own -- the Prius, with its 50 mpg rating -- is the ruling king. But with its futuristic look both outside and in its tech setup, there are some customers turned off by the Prius.

That’s where alternatives -- like the Toyota Camry hybrid -- come into play; boasting strong fuel economy but in a less otherworldly package. In essence, slapping the hybrid package into what is otherwise a traditional car, to the point where it’s not even that obvious that it’s a hybrid. I recently drove a 2015 Camry hybrid and I’m back with a full report of what it offers and how it compares to the rest of the hybrid market.

With so many crossover SUVs on the market, it’s tough to stand out and not get lost in the crowd. The 2015 Mazda CX-5, which I recently was able to spend some time in, doesn’t have that problem.

Between it’s attractive look, strong safety record, high mpg rating and impressively low price, it’s one of the compact crossovers that should gain quite a few fans in 2015. Here’s a full report on what the vehicle has to offer:
